How do I accept an offer?

Managing and accepting offers from buyers.

When buyers make offers on your listing, you can accept, decline, or counter. Here's how the offer system works.

Receiving offers

When a buyer makes an offer:

  • You receive a notification
  • The offer appears in your messages
  • You can see the amount and any message

Responding to offers

You have three options:

Accept

If you're happy with the price:

  1. Tap Accept offer
  2. The buyer is notified
  3. The item is reserved for them
  4. Arrange collection via messages

Decline

If you don't want to accept:

  1. Tap Decline
  2. The buyer is notified
  3. They can make another offer
  4. Your listing stays active

Counter-offer

If you want a different price:

  1. Tap Counter
  2. Enter your counter-price
  3. Add an optional message
  4. The buyer can accept, decline, or counter again

After accepting

When you accept an offer:

  • The item is reserved for that buyer
  • Other buyers can still see the listing (marked reserved)
  • Arrange collection via messages
  • Mark as sold after collection

Multiple offers

If you receive multiple offers:

  • Respond to each fairly
  • You can decline lower offers
  • First accepted offer creates the reservation
  • Be honest with all buyers

Offer etiquette

  • Respond promptly to offers
  • Be respectful when declining
  • Only accept offers you'll honour
  • Complete the sale once agreed
